Jeans retailer Lee has partnered with artist Jean-Michel Basquiat to launch a global collection blending legendary denim and art in styles for both men and women.
Inspired by Basquiat’s sense of style and personality, the collection includes jackets, bottoms, tops, tees, sweaters, and sweatshirts featuring artworks such as the “Warrior”, “Pez Dispenser”, and others.
The highlights include men’s striped blazer and pants, women’s and men’s laser-printed denim, men’s denim rider jacket and women’s striped Pez Dispenser cardigan.
“Lee brought such a fresh perspective to Jean-Michel’s iconic artworks,” said David Stark, founder and president of Artestar, an international brand licensing and consulting agency representing the Estate of Jean-Michel Basquiat. “We hope this collection will inspire a new generation of creatives.”
The line is available on Lee’s website and owned stores in Asia, Europe, and North Carolina, as well as US retailers Nordstrom and Urban Outfitters, European sites Zalando and Asos, and boutiques such as Killiwatch, London, and Craemer & Co. Prices range from $65 to $220.
