UK brands move online Down Under

Aurora Fashions, the UK group behind women’s fashion brands Oasis and Warehouse London will launch its first e-commerce site in Australia next month.

The new transactional site, www.andotherbrands.com, due to launch May 15, will have a ‘shared basket’, allowing consumers to shop both brands and mix them in the one transaction in a combined checkout.

Aurora hopes that approach will maximize cross-selling opportunities and the brands will benefit from shared traffic whilst the customer receives “a stronger, more aggregated product offering to choose from”.

The company will offer local shipping rates.

Aurora plans five new global ecommerce sites this year, the others focused on the US and European markets.

Mike Shearwood, CEO of Aurora Fashions, said the company has translated long-term UK success into international expansion with brands that have their own distinctive market positions and appeal to consumers of all nationalities around the world, alongside a best-fit approach to market entry.

“Having dedicated sites in our key markets gives Aurora a truly global multi-channel presence and with this tabulated website move, we’re embarking on a new chapter.”

Oasis, established in 1991, (www.oasis-stores.com) is described as “a leading aspirational high street brand” with 500 stores and concessions in 25 countries.

Warehouse, founded in 1976, (www.warehouse-london.com) is positioned at the upper end of the high street with over 460 stores and concession internationally.
