R.M. Williams lands A-list investor

R.M. WilliamsAustralian actor, Hugh Jackman, has invested in R.M.Williams.

The Australian company announced today that Jackman has become a private investor alongside majority shareholder L Capital Asia and IFM Investors.

The company did not disclose the size of the investment.

“R.M. Williams is proud to have Hugh Jackman as a shareholder,” the clothing and leather goods company said in a statement released today.

“It is the strong view of the company that with the support of its shareholders there is a unique opportunity to take R.M.Williams and the iconic Adelaide-made boots, to a global customer.”

R.M. Williams provided clothing for Baz Luhrmann’s 2008 film Australia which starred Jackman and Nicole Kidman. The company today exports to 15 countries and has more than 900 stockists worldwide.
