TK Maxx to enter South Australian market later this year

TK Maxx, which has over 500 stores across seven countries, temporarily shuttered their stores around the world in March to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

Discount chain TK Maxx will open its first store in South Australia later this year.

The new store, which will be the retailer’s 60th nationally, will be located in Adelaide and will feature TK Maxx’s fashion offering for women, men and kids alongside footwear, accessories, intimates, beauty, luggage and homewares for every room.

The retailer has not yet disclosed a specific location or a date for the opening.

“TK Maxx fans have been asking us to come to Adelaide for a while, which makes it even more exciting to officially announce that we will be opening our first South Australian store, becoming a member of the Adelaide community,” said Tony Dunseath, AVP Marketing at TJX Australia.

TK Maxx, which has over 500 stores across seven countries, temporarily shuttered their stores around the world in March to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus. Some stores in some countries were only closed for a fortnight, some were only reopened recently.

The TJX company also temporarily closed its online businesses during the lockdown period as well as its distribution centres and offices.

In the UK, the retailer has only recently started reopening majority of its stores for the first time in three months.

Its stores in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales are still closed as permission has not been given yet for non-essential retailers to reopen.
