Construction of Australia’s first Lego store at Dreamworld on Queensland’s Gold Coast has begun, with the store set to open this November.
The flagship store will be the largest retail outlet at Dreamworld, covering an area of 350sqm and forming a stand-alone precinct at the front of the park with access from within and external to Dreamworld.
“The Lego brand is one of the world’s best known, most successful and powerful brands and we’re very excited to welcome the Lego store as an exciting development for Dreamworld guests and for tourism to Australia and South East Queensland,” said Craig Davidson, CEO, Dreamworld. “We’re working very closely with Lego Australia and drawing inspiration from across the globe to ensure the Lego store delivers the ultimate Lego brand experience and is a destination in its own right.
“An epic Lego builder’s paradise, it will be filled with an eye-popping amount of Lego product including life-size Lego models, exclusive items and interactive features like the world-famous Lego ‘pick a brick’ wall, ‘lounge room’ play areas and Lego brick engraving.”
Davidson said Dreamworld would manage the build with several contractors from South East Queensland commissioned to the project including architects Mode Design Corporation (Gold Coast office) and Brisbane-based builders Astute Projects.
