Australian fashion retailer Showpo has replatformed from Salesforce Commerce Cloud to Shopify, cutting homepage load times by more than 90 per cent as part of a wider rebuild led by Shopify Platinum Partner Convert Digital.

The project moved Showpo onto a headless Shopify Hydrogen storefront, now serving customers across Australia, New Zealand, the US, the UK, the EU and Canada from a single platform; six markets that had previously stretched a five-year-old Salesforce Commerce Cloud setup well past what it was built for.

“Previously, so much of our time was spent managing operational tasks, working around platform limitations and patching gaps. We were reacting instead of proactively planning for growth,” says Charlee Standley, head of digital and e-commerce at Showpo.

For a retailer with a large product catalogue, predominantly mobile traffic and a high-performing native app, rebuilding the website required more than simply changing e-commerce platforms. The new solution had to improve performance without disrupting an app that plays a significant role in revenue generation.

To achieve this, Convert Digital implemented a Shopify Hydrogen frontend with a KrakenD Backend-for-Frontend layer, separating the customer experience from the commerce backend and retiring legacy middleware that had become increasingly difficult to maintain. The approach allows the website and mobile app to evolve independently while sharing the same commerce platform.

The impact was immediate. Alongside significantly faster page load times, Showpo has recorded improvements in both conversion rate and average order value since launch. Internally, day-to-day tasks such as regional promotions and content updates no longer require developer support, allowing the marketing team to manage campaigns directly and respond more quickly to changing customer demand.

“Replatforming Showpo to Shopify lets the brand move at the speed of its customer, faster launches, smarter merchandising and a modern stack that scales,” says Andrew Waite, CEO and founder of Convert Digital. “It’s the foundation for the next wave of growth.”

“Convert didn’t just bring a solution; they took the time to understand our business, challenges and goals,” Standley says. “It wasn’t just a new site, it was building internal capability and setting us up for long-term success.”

With the platform now in place, Showpo’s roadmap turns to deeper personalisation and further international growth, work the team says is now possible with their new Shopify store.
