The Munro Family Group has acquired Australian fashion footwear retailer, Wanted Shoes.
The Melbourne-based Munro Family Group design, manufacture, and own footwear brands including Gamins, Midas, Mollini, I Love Billy, Django & Juliette, and Cinori Shoes, and in 2013 acquired Australia’s largest online footwear retailer, Styletread.
The acquisition of Wanted includes its 17 retail stores in NSW, which the Munro Family Group says it now plans to expand nation wide. The purchase of the business will also see the family-owned business grow from 200 employees to more than 400.
“We support Australian retail, and bricks and mortar retail at that,” the Munro family said.
“The industry may be tough, but we believe it has a bright future. Wanted is a long term family business that has been running for over 20 years. They are excited to hand over to someone with the drive to take the brand to the next level.”
