The inner-city mall by Frasers Property Australia opened today and is attached to the group’s residential Central Park development.

Central is located on Broadway in the semi-residential area of Chippendale, and is in close proximity to the busy strip of Glebe Point Rd.

Its neighbours include The University of Sydney and several large offices, such as the ABC and DDB Sydney.

The area is currently serviced by Mirvac’s large format centre, Broadway, as well as Westfield Sydney in the city.

Central is being dubbed a ‘living mall’, with it including a bounty of natural lighting, sustainable architecture, and a 33 metre high vertical garden.

The fashion mix

Its fashion tenants are primarily street and sneaker retailers, including Adidas, Hype DC, Foot Locker, and a large format store by Glue.

Other tenants include Capsule, Voi, and Blush Cosmetics, with Superdry to set to be added to the mix.

The multi-level centre has a mix of food chains, cafes, and outdoors dining, and boasts Australia’s largest interactive digital signage screen.

It also features a pop up gallery for temporary retailers, a photographic gallery, and a 1000sqm area for community use on the third level.

Central Park is a joint venture between Frasers and Sekisui House Australia and came with a price tag of $2 billion.
