Inditex hits milestone

 

zaraSpanish apparel group, Inditex, is planning to open its 500th store in China later this year.

The Chinese market is now Inditex’ second largest market after Spain, where it has more than 1860 stores.

With an active expansion program underway, the Zara parent expects to record a 14 per cent rise in revenue by 2020.

In Decemeber, the company’s store network stood at 6249 across 86 markets.

Fashion rival H&M has also set it sights on the Chinese market, with its CEO Karl-Johan Persson confirming the fast fashion chain plans to open between 80 to 90 new stores in China this year.

Inditex is also preparing to launch online platforms in Mexico and South Korea later this year.
