Dymocks opens new store in Brisbane

Dymocks opened a new store yesterday in Brisbane’s retail district at Queen St Mall, relocating from its previous location on Albert Street.

Set in an 865sqm floor space, the book retailer said its newly opened store is the largest bookstore in Queensland.

About 20 per cent of the store is general merchandise and includes gift products such as Lamy and Moleskin, designer stationery, cards and wrap, office and lifestyle accessories. Books and gifts are ranged together providing a one-stop shopping environment for customers.

According to the bookstore chain, it has been a hub for Brisbane book-lovers since it first opened its doors in the area in 1989 and had stores at the Queen Street mall, MacArthur Chambers in Edward Street then Albert Street from 2009 till February 2020.

Dymocks, founded in 1879, celebrated its 140th anniversary last year.
