Broadway Sydney revamp nears completion

Broadway Shopping Centre1Broadway Sydney’s $55 million Level 2 redevelopment has entered its final stages of completion and will reopen to the public on August 18.

The revamped second level includes a 3400sqm expansion that will house 30 new retailers alongside commissioned public artworks, offering customers a fusion of food, fashion, beauty and art.

The centre’s owners, Mirvac Group and Perron Group, said the new Level 2 will have an entirely new look and feel.

“After 12 months of redevelopment works, we are excited to unveil the new Level 2 to our customers,” said Christina Nelson, Mirvac’s senior development manager.

“We have introduced a premium mix of Australian and international brands, offering customers everything they need from food and fashion, to beauty and lifestyle, without the need to venture into the city,” Nelson said. “This is an exciting step forward for Broadway Sydney as we continue with the centre’s transformation into an unrivalled lifestyle precinct for Sydneysiders.”

International retailers Victoria’s Secret, Seed Heritage, Sunglass Hut and Napoleon, as well as local retailer, Paul Dane, will join Calvin Klein, Sephora and H&M on the new Level 2’s retail mix alongside new food retailers, The Dutch Smuggler, Passiontree Velvet, Mr. Wu, Bun Me, Eat Istanbul, Soul Origin, Hero Sushi and Chatime.

Mirvac and Perron have given five Sydney-based artists ‘free creative reign’ to transform Level 2 into an open art gallery as part of the public art initiative associated with the centre’s redevelopment.

The artwork, which will be mix of modern Australian art, will be permanently showcased as part of the redevelopment, focusing on locally based art, sustainable urban design and ongoing community collaboration through a series of public engagement activities over the coming months.
