AMP partners with fashion body

clothesAMP Capital Shopping Centres has been named a founding partner of the newly formed Australian Fashion Chamber (AFC).

The AFC is a not for profit organisation that aims to support the domestic fashion industry as well as promote emerging designers.

The fashion initiative, headed by Vogue Australia’s editor in chief Edwina McCann, will offer a program of activities, including training conferences and mentoring.

It will introduce its own awards program in December, presented by AMP Capital Shopping Centres.

“The formation of the AFC is an extremely positive and welcome addition to the local fashion industry and we look forward to working together to achieve our shared goals for the future of Australian fashion designers,” Bryan Hynes MD of AMP Capital Shopping Centres, said.

“AMP Capital Shopping Centres is also helping to move Australian fashion talent forward by providing engaging and inspiring retail environments. We are planning to invest $2.8 billion in redevelopments across Australia and New Zealand to reshape the future of shopping centres,” Hynes said.

The AMP Capital redevelopments include Pacific Fair on the Gold Coast, Macquarie Centre in Sydney, and Garden City and Karrinyup Shopping Centres in Perth.
