Woolworths appoints ex-Target head to board

woolworthsSupermarket giant, Woolworths, has appointed former US retailer Target’s head of merchandise as a non-executive director.

US resident Kathee Tesija was former chief merchandising and supply chain officer and executive vice president at Target Corporation in the US between 2008 and 2015.

Tesija continued as a strategic adviser at Target until earlier this year and is also an independent director of US telecommunications company Verizon; and a senior adviser and consultant for a US consulting agency, Simpactful.

Gordon Cairns, Woolworths chair, said Tesija’s expertise in the areas of merchandising and supply chain management, as well as her international perspective, would be a great resource for Woolworths.

“I am also delighted we will now have a 50 per cent representation of women on the board of Woolworths,” Cairns said.
