Online sports store launched

An online sports store just launched in Australia is described as a first-of-its-kind.

Onsport.com.au gives Australians access to a broad range of sporting experiences such as game day and non-game day offers, including meeting sports personalities, match or season tickets and hospitality, and sports based travel packages.

In a launch offer, the site is promoting a two for one package to the Rugby World Cup in NZ, as well as a great offer on Wallabies jerseys. Other deals include tickets for an ANZ Stadium’s unique Gantry Tour and 2012 Wests Tigers memberships.

The site offers sports footwear, apparel, equipment, accessories, supporters gear and has a longer-term plan to stock many items not currently available in Australia.

The site is partnered with a number of sporting organisations and major sports brands, including Pacific Brands, ANZ Stadium, Science in Sport (SiS), 2XU, Melbourne Heart, Wests Tigers, HSBC Waratahs, the MCG and Queensland Cricket. Onsport.com.au will be continuously adding new partnerships to expand its range of products and experiences.

Onsport.com.au is also the preferred online sports partner of Velocity Frequent Flyer, the loyalty program of Virgin Australia. From today Velocity Members will earn four Velocity Points per dollar spent on the site and from late October they will also be able to redeem Velocity Points for all purchases on the site.

The site was created by Matt Brodie and Andrew Kidd.

“Australia is a sports loving nation and onsport.com.au embraces this by offering everyday Australians with unique experiences and limited edition product offers, whatever their sport of choice is,” said Brodie. “We want onsport.com.au to become the first place sports fans go to online to find something for them or their friends and family.

“Our customers will also have the confidence that they are buying genuine, official products and that they are dealing with an Australian-based company. This will give customers peace of mind that they are not buying counterfeit or ‘fake’ products or sending their hard earned money offshore when shopping with overseas online merchants,” Brodie said.
