NRA appoints online expert to board

The National Retailers Association (NRA) has appointed Paul Greenberg, founder and director of the National Online Retail Association (NORA), as a board member at its recent annual general meeting – creating a deeper connection with the ever-growing online retail sector.

NRA chairman Mark Brodie welcomed the appointment, noting that it added direct expertise in online retail to the leadership team and complemented existing directors’ varying skills.

“In order to support retail, you need to understand it. Every member of our board brings a different but equally important perspective on the retail and hospitality sector,” Brodie said.

“It’s only natural that we should add expertise in online retail as well.”

Greenberg said that his appointment showed the NRA has recognised the explosive growth in online and multi-platform retail and understands the risks of “sitting on their hands”.

“Online retail is everyone’s opportunity, and the NRA is the stand-out industry association supporting its members to take advantage of the opportunities available,” Greenberg said.

“I am humbled to have been elected, and look forward to making a positive contribution to the board, the association and the entire industry.”

The NRA’s chairman and directors were re-elected unchallenged at the AGM, ensuring chairman Brodie, deputy chair Ian Interburn and directors Kristine Skippington, Geoff Hogg and Tim Schaafsma have kept their positions.
