Gelatissmo’s new concept

Gelatissimo norwoodGelatissimo has launched a new gelateria production concept at its new Norwood store in South Australia.

The Galleria Del Gelato store format places the machinery involved in the gelato making process front and centre of the store via a glass viewing window.

Customers are able to see all aspects of the gelato making process; mixing, measuring, pouring ingredients into the gelato making machine, extracting the fresh gelato and garnishing it for presentation.

The Burwood gelateria in Sydney is also being refurbished to include the concept and will reopen with new franchisees on September 28.

Gelatissimo already has a full cafe format which serves coffee, biscotti and other desserts, however, Norwood and Burwood are the only stores to include the new gelato creation area and serve Coppe Gelato (Italian-style sundaes).

Where space permits, future Gelatissimo gelaterias will feature Galleria Del Gelato and sundae bar areas, with the new concept to be rolled out next in both Broadway (NSW) and Mackay (QLD) gelaterias, opening in October 2013.

Gelatissimo joint CEO, Domenico Lopresti, said that through the introduction of the Galleria Del Gelato and Coppe Gelato sundaes, the gelaterias are now engaging destinations where customers can immerse themselves in the world of an artisan gelato maker.

“This visual presentation will heighten the authentic Italian experience customers have when they taste freshly made gelato created from scratch.”
