The McKenzie Hall team of 31 people will transition to Colliers International and will continue to manage the 45 retail and large format centres they are currently involved with.
“Building our retail property expertise has been a major focus for us over the last five years,” John Keny, CEO Australia and New Zealand at Colliers International, said.
“We see the acquisition of McKenzie Hall complementing our existing retail management, capital transaction, and project leasing capability,” said Keny.
The announcement follows previous acquisitions of specialty retail businesses in New Zealand and Western Australia, in addition to the acquisition of Briant Champion Long (BCL) in the UK earlier this year.
Across Australia and New Zealand, Colliers International manages more than 150 retail assets and is currently delivering more than 65 retail easing projects over 350,000sqm of space.
During the year to date, Colliers has transacted more than $1.5 billion worth of retail asset sales in the Australia/New Zealand region.
