Bakers Maison opens first store in Asia

BAKERS MAISON 1Australian bread-and-pastry chain, Bakers Maison, have opened a store in the Philippines with plans to roll out a minimum of 100 outlets within the next several years.

Bakers Maison, a manufacturer of authentic French-style bread and pastries based in Australia, is operated under QAF Ltd., the same owner of Gardenia Philippines.

Gardenia Bakeries president, Simplicio P. Umali, said introducing Bakers Maison to the Phillipines is a new experience as they venture from the “packaged segment” to the “unpackaged category.”

“As part of Gardenia’s latest business expansions, Bakers Maison brought its trademark from Australia, by opening its first retail store in the Philippines,” said Umali.

“We envision for Bakers Maison to have a minimum of 100 strategically located stores in the next few years… and will be in every relevant place – in premier malls, commercial districts, high-rise offices, residential and lifestyle centers, and the list goes on,” said Umali.

All breads are partially baked, he said, in a clean and controlled environment and delivered frozen to the store, where the final oven baking is done.
