David Jones partners with Blue Spinach to launch designer resale

Australian luxury reseller Blue Spinach has joined David Jones’ Mindfully Made edit, giving pre-owned designer pieces a second life.

The online designer resale at David Jones features more than 30 luxury accessories items from brands including Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Prada, Hermes, Gucci, Celine, Balenciaga, Valentino and Fendi.

“Resale of pre-owned designer pieces is gaining momentum globally,” said Bridget Veals, GM of womenswear, footwear and accessories at David Jones.

“We are dedicated to offering our customers choice in how they shop and the introduction of resale is a further expansion to our range of services which includes personal shopping, fashion rental, tailoring and virtual services.”

Designer items will be regularly refreshed with one-off, hard-to-find and popular pieces at David Jones. The brand will also bring the resale to its Elizabeth Street flagship store early next year.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with David Jones and welcome a national audience to the luxury resale market to continue the lifecycle of luxury goods,” said Jane Thompson, co-founder of Blue Spinach.

“As a reseller of pre-loved luxury items, we are committed to not only providing the highest quality consignment services, but also to practices that are ethically and environmentally responsible.”

Mindful Made edit was introduced by David Jones last year as a platform for sustainable commitments.

Founded in 1996 by Jane & Mark Thompson, Blue Spinach is known for its comprehensive end to end white-glove service, giving pre-loved luxury items another life to create a more sustainable fashion industry.
