Italian fashion house Gucci opened the doors on its Brisbane flagship store on Friday, at the Vicinity Centre-owned QueensPlaza shopping centre.
The opening marks the 49th luxury brand across Vicinity’s national portfolio, and furthers the property firm’s efforts to create a strong luxury offering Australia-wide.
“As part of our market-leading destinations strategy, we continue to demonstrate our leadership in luxury by broadening and deepening Vicinity’s partnerships with the world’s best luxury retailers who are expanding their presence in Australia,” said Vicinity’s chief operating officer Peter Huddle.
“Having a global brand of Gucci’s calibre launching at QueensPlaza is another example of retailer confidence in our CBD and premium centres.”
According to Vicinity, luxury brands have picked up sales locally that would have been traditionally made on overseas trips, when customers are likely to make personal purchases and pamper themselves.
And the property firm said it has more luxury brands opening in the near future, with Balenciaga set to launch at QueensPlaza, and Mulberry and Ralph Lauren Collection Boutique to launch at Chadstone, later this year.
