Krispy Kreme has appointed Nicola Steele as COO, effective March 3, as part of the doughnut chain’s expansion strategy in the US.

Steele started her Krispy Kreme career as a crew member in October 2006 and is now the company’s president for its Australia and New Zealand operations.

Steele’s appointment comes as Krispy Kreme implements a wider adoption of its capital-light international franchise model.

Earlier, the company named Dave Skena as chief growth officer, Raphael Duvivier as president of international, and Alison Holder as chief product officer, effective January 6.

“As we grow, these leadership changes will result in both a bigger and better Krispy Kreme,” said Josh Charlesworth, Krispy Kreme CEO.

Earlier, Krispy Kreme reported its net revenue for the third quarter fell 6.8 per cent to $380 million, but its organic revenue grew 3.5 per cent to $376.4 million.
