Nourissh is an online meal delivery service with a focus on wellness.
Using only local and organic ingredients, each meal is prepared by former Nobu chef David Selex and nutritionally approved by Nourissh’s in-house nutritionist Damian Brown.
Investors Justin Dry and Andre Eikmeier, co-founders and joint CEO’s of Vinomofo, see the delivery meals market as a key area of growth.
“The meal delivery space is exploding overseas and we’re starting to see the same thing happen here in Australia. Nourissh ties in nicely with our vision – a food delivery service with a point of difference and huge potential for growth. Good food and good wine go naturally together and it’s always been our vision to make them more accessible,” said Dry.
According to Ibisworld, the prepared meals industry is worth more than $900 million in Australia and is set to grow strongly over the next five years.
Nourissh was founded by accredited Sports Kinesiologist, Amanda Campbell, who believes that food is medicine. After a serious multiple sclerosis attack left her paralysed, she looked to western and eastern medicines and focused on nutrition at a cellular level to heal and take back control of her life.
“The idea for Nourissh started at my private practice Bend Like Bamboo in 2014, my clients wanted advice about the best foods to compliment their medical treatments. Knowing the success that I experienced, I was sharing food recommendations I researched and applied along the way to help my recovery and my clients were seeing positive results. I knew then that I wanted to share this with the wider community,” said Campbell.
Nourissh’s in-house nutritionist Damian Brown also recovered from a Chronic Auto Immune Disease, Ankylosing Spondylitis. Together in their private practices and now Nourissh, Amanda and Damian assist others to rebuild their lives. As a combined team they hold qualifications in: Functional Medicine, Nutrition, Kinesiology, Naturopathy and Exercise Science.
Nourissh currently delivers to the greater Melbourne and Mornington Peninsula areas but has plans to expand to the rest of Australia over the next 12 months.
