Sigma Pharmaceuticals Limited has appointed Iona MacPherson as its new chief financial officer effective November 2.
MacPherson, who holds a degree of Bachelor of Administration (Accounting and Law) from the University of Dundee in Scotland, is a qualified chartered accountant and a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
She is also an ASX listed executive with experience across a range of industries.
Her most recent position was CFO and company secretary for IT services company, UXC Limited. Prior to that, she spent over seven years as CFO and company secretary of Boom Logistics Limited.
“We are delighted to have secured the talents of such an accomplished CFO,” said Mark Hooper, company CEO.
“Iona’s financial and risk management expertise is well complemented by her detailed knowledge of logistics and contract negotiations, which will be of great value in helping to further drive Sigma’s performance,” Hooper said.
The company has also appointed Jeff Sells into the newly created position of executive general manager strategy and business development to support Sigma’s business development and strategy activities.
The appointment comes as the wholesale distributor and owner of pharmacy brands including Amcal, has recently expanded internationally, with the launch of an online Amcal venture in China.
