The chain which operate more than 1,250 stores in Germany, the Czech Republic, Poland, Bulgaria, Croatia, Romania, and Slovakia already employs well over 140,000 staff.
Area Manager roles advertised on the company website are offering successful candidates a 14-month “training and development” period in Europe where they will “become a fluent German speaker” and learn what makes Kaufland successful.
Alongside a “competitive” salary package, the supermarket giant is also offering a “fully maintained company BMW”.
The job advertisement advises candidates to “be prepared to enter an environment that has a ‘start-up’ feeling and a team that supports each other professionally and socially.”
Kaufland is known its large selection of reasonably priced products including big name brands alongside its own private label range of ‘K-Classic’ products.
While the supermarket has not yet confirmed an opening date for Australia, the recruitment drive has left many speculating that it could be as soon as late next year.
One person who is not pleased about the impending arrival of the supermarket giant is Dick Smith who announced the closure of Dick Smith Foods in July due to competition from another European grocery giant, Aldi. Smith took to Twitter to vent his frustration at the arrival of the German store.

Sister site Inside FMCG has contacted Kaufland for comment on the recruitment process and plans for store opening but a response was not received at time of publishing.
