Emma & Roe appoints new GM

Emma&RoeSMALLEmma & Roe, the offshoot of jewellery chain Michael Hill, has appointed Tishara Mina as general manager, in a move to ramp up its expansion plans.

The subsidiary brand has expanded out of its test markets – NZ and Queensland – and into NSW last month to have a total of 16 stores, with a further 12 stores set to open in the next 12 months.

“We’re very pleased with the way the brand has been accepted through the test and launch stage, and with sales growth of 91 per cent in the 2015/16 year, we are on track for Emma & Roe to become a key contributor in coming years to our overall business success,” said acting CEO for Michael Hill International, Phil Taylor, who confirmed the company is actively seeking new talent to help quickly expand the Emma & Roe brand.

“Emma & Roe represents an exciting new phase in the broader Michael Hill offering, we need to have the right people on board and that is why we’re very happy to promote Tishara into this business,” he said.

“Her infectious energy and natural leadership abilities will inspire the team she leads and I have great confidence they will deliver.”

The jewellery chain has sit its sights on having as many stores as its parent company with a minimum of 12 new stores to open annually across its Australasian markets.

Since January 2015, Mina has held the role of regional manager for Michael Hill in Queensland, following a 25-year career in operations and general management.

“I am delighted to be taking Emma & Roe into full launch mode,” said Mina

“We have had a great response from the market so far and with a talented and motivated team on board I know we can take this exciting new brand to the next level.”
