Mirvac CEO and chair retire, making way for new leadership
Property group Mirvac has announced the upcoming retirement of chief executive and managing director Susan Lloyd-Hurwitz, as well as chair John Mulcahy.
Lloyd-Hurwitz will exit the role at the end of June 2023, providing time for Mirvac to hire her successor and transition them into the role, while Mulcahy will leave the board on 31 December. Rob Sindel, a non-executive director at Mirvac, will take over as chair effective 1 January.
“This is the right time for both Sue and I to leave Mirvac and hand the baton over to the next generation of leaders at Mirvac,” Mulcahy said.
“Not only has Sue helped deliver exceptional places and projects across Australia’s major cities, but she has also ensured that we have retained a reputation for quality, for care, for being a leader in sustainability and innovation, and for being a trusted partner.
“In my many years of working in corporate Australia and working with many CEOs, I believe that Sue is a true leader of our time, and I have no doubt she will continue to achieve great things.”
Lloyd-Hurwitz said she was humbled by her tenure at Mirvac, and that the decision to leave wasn’t easy.
Myer’s general manager of omni experience exits
Nicola Clement, Myer’s general manager of omni experience, has said she is exiting her role at the department store retailer to pursue an MBA at Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford next year.
Clement has been in the role for three-and-a-half years and will finish up on 16 November.
“On reflection, I’ve realised I can’t excel at my studies and also excel in my full time role… so I’ve made the tough decision to hand in my notice,” Clement wrote on LinkedIn.
At Myer, Clement was responsible for leading the business’ digital strategy and end-to-end customer experience across all of its channels, and previously served as head of digital experience.
Clement also co-founded We Talk, a business focusing on increasing the diversity, representation and inclusion of speakers at industry events, webinars and conferences across Australia and New Zealand.
