Fitness and technology retailer Peloton has appointed Karen Lawson as its country manager for Australia, following the announcement that it is launching its first stores in the country this year.
Lawson, who also serves as a non-executive director – Investment Committee for Save the Children, said she was looking forward to the launch and excited to be joining the Peloton team.
“I am thrilled to be leading Peloton Australia as we bring this iconic and much loved international brand and place it into the hearts, minds, homes and workplaces of Aussies,” she said.
“Our team is looking forward to empowering people to be the best version of themselves anywhere, anytime.”
According to Peloton, it will open its first stores in key Australian cities like Sydney and Melbourne. Its stores will be interactive showrooms that will provide customers the chance to try out its smart-cycle products firsthand.
Lawson said Peloton, which was founded in New York, will be bringing its Peloton Bike and Bike+ products as well as an all-access membership that allows customers access to Peloton’s fitness programs.
“I think it says a great deal about our passion for health and wellbeing that Australians stood out around the world for our love of boutique fitness,” she said.
The retailer’s Australian site is now up and Lawson said they will be posting job roles on the space soon as well.
