Leading ANZ online fashion retailer The Iconic has appointed Jere Calmes as its new chief executive officer. He replaces outgoing CEO Erica Berchtold, who is set to become the new Best & Less Group CEO in September this year.

Calmes has more than 25 years of leadership experience and rejoins Global Fashion Group (GFG) – which owns a number of e-commerce companies including The Iconic – following a three-year period as CEO of Lamoda, which GFG sold at the end of last year.

“I am honoured to be joining The Iconic and working with such a professional and dynamic team once again, both in Australia and across GFG,” Calmes said.

“As one of the most loved e-commerce platforms in the region, offering the strongest assortment of local and international brands, the team has done an amazing job to evolve the business and I can’t wait to play a part in this fascinating future.”

GFG CEO Christoph Barchewitz added that Calmes’ track record in fashion e-commerce and adjacent sectors made him an ideal fit for The Iconic.

“I am really looking forward to working with him again and am confident he will continue building on The Iconic’s success,” Barchewitz said
