Global e-gift card and payment platform Prezzee has announced the appointment of CEO Jamie Samaha.

The former Mastercard executive will succeed Tony Karp, and will commence operations mid-March this year.

In his tenure, Karp oversaw the growth of the digital gift card company across Australia and its expansion into North America, UK and New Zealand. He was the company’s 10th employee at its inception and assisted in its development since.

“I haven’t arrived at this decision lightly, but on balance, I know this is the right move for me and my family and the right time for a new leader to step into the CEO role,” said Karp.

Prezzee chairman Shaun Bonett said the business’ immediate focus is about ensuring a seamless transition so it can maintain the “strong momentum we’re experiencing at home and abroad.”
