Louis Vuitton has opened its first retail store in Sydney International Airport’s new premium area.

Featuring the architectural idea first applied by Peter Marino in Ginza Namiki Dori, Tokyo, Japan, Louis Vuitton Sydney Airport combines light woods and bright colours for the store design, which complements the airport’s setting while also incorporating local features.

The exterior, which is highlighted by two display windows showcasing the brand’s latest collections, features a kinetic blade idea with vivid colours, attempting to be reminiscent of Australia’s spectacular sunsets.

Aiming to build a strong connection with the local culture, the Louis Vuitton Sydney Airport store also utilises locally crafted objects by Australian-based designers. Yarrabee by George Hall, facade design by Melbourne artist Daniel O’Toole, sculptures by Tom Fereday, and a table by the Chinese brand Buzao can all be found in the store.

The shop offers a wide variety of renowned men’s and women’s ready-to-wear, shoes, and leather goods in addition to a range of accessories, watches, jewellery, and Louis Vuitton fragrances.

This week, the upgraded terminal at Gold Coast Airport welcomed new stores from the Tax & Duty-Free brand Heinemann Australia. The shops have a large selection of goods from more than 40 new labels, including Prada, Dior, Tom Ford, Gucci, and Bottega Veneta.
