Woolworths boosts online order capacity in WA

Woolworths has revealed plans for its first Customer Fulfilment Centre (CFC) in Western Australia to meet the growing demand for online orders among Pearth’s population.

The $23.8 million facility at Mirrabooka, Perth North, obtained state planning clearance last week. It is scheduled to be built in early 2026 and operational in 2027.

The new CFC, styled after a large-scale supermarket with no customers, expects to fulfil online orders for home delivery and Direct to Boot, as well as allow shoppers to hand-pick products from shelves and fridges inside the 7800sqm warehouse.

“We’re delighted to announce WA’s first Customer Fulfilment Centre, which will help us better meet the needs of Perth’s growing population for fast and convenient online groceries,” said Woolworths MD EComX, Sally Copland.

“Not only will the new centre create more jobs in the area, it will also provide a major capacity boost to our same-day delivery and Direct to Boot services.”

According to Woolworths, the new CFC will increase the retailers’ e-commerce capability and next-day fleet delivery capacity by more than 50 per cent across the Perth metro area. The development will also have 12 Direct to Boot parking places for on-the-go picking.

In 2022, Woolworths opened Queensland’s first CFC, a 10,000sqm purpose-built warehouse facility 18km from the CBD at Goodman’s Rochedale Motorway Estate.
