Supermarket chain Aldi is recalling some faulty Workzone double USB power points sold in the majority of states in Australia this year due to fire and electrocution risks.

The company said that it is recalling the product due to “weak contacts in the power point” and that it poses a “risk of serious injury or death from fire or electrocution.”

Aldi sold the products in New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Victoria, Western Australia, and the Australian Capital Territory from May 27 to August 4 this year.

The Workzone products being recalled have product number 708521, model numbers RPOD10U-AA and RPOD10U-AC, and batch number 05/2023 or 07/2023.

Aldi is urging customers to immediately stop using the product and either return it to any Aldi store for a full refund or arrange for free product replacement if it has already been installed, by completing an online form.
