Puma and Modibodi have partnered to launch an underwear and activewear range that helps women stay active and comfortable during their period.
The collection will counter the growing problem of disposable feminine products polluting the environment by replacing them with long-term reusable and sustainable alternatives.
Erin Longin, global director Run/Train at Puma said that it is important for Puma as a global brand to address the issue. “The collaboration allows women to stay active, without having to worry about leaks, while reducing their monthly waste from period products.”
Modibodi’s proprietary Modifier Technology will use a soft top layer of merino wool that locks moisture and sweat, followed by a microfibre middle layer that helps in quick drying and a waterproof bottom layer that provides protection against leakages.
Kristy Chong, CEO and founder of Modibodi, said she wants to normalise menstruation and tackle the stigma that women can’t be active during their periods.
“No woman should have to sit on the sidelines of life because they have their period or bladder leaks,” said Chong.
As part of the launch, both brands will work together with Puma’s She Moves Us charity partner to provide a bundle pack of five briefs to 500 girls and women in need. The bundles will last four years.
The collection will be launched in May in selected stores.
