Kookai doubles size of Melbourne Emporium store in revamp

Melbourne-based fashion label Kookai has unveiled the new look of its $1 million outlet at Vicinity Emporium Shopping Centre.

The store footprint has been expanded twice compared to its original size, housing 13 fitting rooms with personalised styling services.

Redesigned with warm neutral tones, Kookai Emporium is highlighted with metallic details combining with finishes of marble and timber.

Kookai said the reason behind its expansion of retail space was that it is confident in the demand for bricks and mortar stores.

“There’s something about the in-store shopping experience that has the power to inspire, evoke feelings and moods, and help customers to truly connect with a brand in a way that simply can’t be replicated digitally,” said Rob Cromb, co-founder and managing director at Kookai.

“Wherever the world takes us from here, I believe the fashion customer will always seek out that in-person experience.”

Kookai aims to increase its store number in the country with at least eight new boutiques by 2023.

Founded by Rob Cromb and Danielle Vagner in 1992, Kookai operates 37 stores in Australia together with retail stores in New Zealand and throughout Europe.
