Topshop has confirmed it’s opening its first store in Perth at the freshly renovated Carillon City in late 2014.
The two story 2200sqm flagship will house both Topshop and Topman and receive 300 new products weekly.
Hilton Seskin, chairman of Next Athleisure, which owns the Australian license, says the store will mimic a US flagship.
“The store features exciting new design elements taking inspiration from the flagship recently opening at The Grove in Los Angeles,” he says.
Topshop first entered Australia in late 2011 with a Chapel St store in Melbourne.
It now has two Melbourne stores, one Sydney site, and will open a Brisbane flagship by December.
Mary Homer, MD of Topshop, says the Perth store will be defined by “newness” and will feature a personal shopping service.
“We are thrilled to bring something very different and unique to Western Australia to sit amongst other retailers,” she says.
“This will build on the phenomenal success of our current Sydney and Melbourne flagship stores.
“I feel confident that our first to market fashion with that signature British style will appeal to the fashion forward customer in Perth.”
The fast fashion race
Zara is also looking to open a Perth store after lodging a development application in May.
The Spanish giant would fit into the Murray Street mall, making it neighbours with Topshop.
Hawaiian, which owns Carillon, has been redeveloping the west section of Carillon City arcade for the international drawcard.
It is said to have demolished 35 stores to make way for Topshop.
Topshop also confirmed this month that supermodel, Kate Moss, will be returning for another diffusion range.
Moss designed collections for Topshop between 2007 and 2010 and was a major selling point for the chain.
