Amart Furniture, World Gym and Sheridan will open at Aventus Property Group-owned (APG) Sunshine Coast Home, as the centre nears the end of its $12 million dollar redevelopment.
The 27,000sqm retail centre has a mix of 33 retailers and showrooms including services, home, furniture, electrical, food, auto and bedding.
Amart Furniture has secured the single largest tenancy within the centre (6,000 sqm), with World Gym (1,500sqm) and Sheridan (500sqm) taking the balance of space in the refurbished ex-Bunnings tenancy.
“Since the 1970s, Amart Furniture has had a strong presence in Queensland,” said Scott Pears, chief operating officer for Amart Furniture.
“In 1998 we opened our first store on the Sunshine Coast. Located in Warana, the store has always been one of our busiest. We have wanted to add a second store on the Sunshine Coast for quite some time but needed to wait until we found the perfect site. I am happy to say that our team have done a brilliant job sourcing this new location in Sunshine Coast Home.”
APG is applying the finishing touches to the redeveloped centre, which is valued at $85m, to be completed late next month.
“Sunshine Coast Home is one of the company’s core assets in Queensland, and we are proud of what we have achieved here since acquisition,” said Adam Trent, head of development for Aventus Property Group.
The centre features the likes of big brands and specialty stores such as Beacon Lighting, Pillow Talk, Petstock, TK Maxx, JB Hi Fi, Chemist Warehouse, Oz Design, Adairs, Super Cheap Auto and BWS.
Sunshine Coast Home is situated in Maroochydore, an area undergoing major redevelopments including the $400 million Sunshine Plaza upgrade, a second major runway will be built at Maroochydore Airport and Maroochydore Council is planning to create a new masterplanned CBD.
