Summit adds retailers

winningshowroom_redfernMuffin Break, Winning Group, The Co-Op, and GSK are set to spill all about their shopper marketing strategies at the POPAI Shopper Summit next week.

POPAI Australia & NZ has added Drew Eide, national marketing manager at Muffin Break, as a keynote speaker, and John Winning, CEO of Winning Group, to its panel lineup.

The POPAI Shopper Summit is a two day event for retailers, brands, and marketing managers seeking to better understand the shopper journey and path to purchase.

Both the summit and workshop are being held at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre in Darling Harbour on September 25 and 26.

Lorna Jane, Topshop, Glue Store, Muffin Break, Australia Post, and The Co-op are attending the summit and workshop.

“The workshop environment is an opportunity to share shopper challenges and to have meaningful dialogue with the best in the business across retailers, brands, and agencies,” says Philip Best, GM of POPAI Australia & NZ.

Best says POPAI is expanding its core FMCG membership and business focus to include brand and retail channels with a shopper marketing scope.

Winning will be joined on a panel by Brown Forman’s marketing director, Sarah Nicols; Mark Johnson, client director ANZ, HIM! Australia; and Peter Wilson, retail planning director of Cheil Worldwide Inc.

Jon Bird, chairman of retail marketing agency, IdeaWorks, and Octomedia, publisher of Inside Shopper, is also speaking at the event.

Daniel Thorpe, category marketing manager for GSK consumer healthcare, will co-present with Integer’s GM Georgia Bruton on how retailers can build an integrated store back campaign.

Less than 15 places remain for a half day workshop on 26 September, where summit speakers will share their business learnings to a small table of eight.
