A sensory Christmas

Screen Shot 2014-12-01 at 11.30.25 ameBay Australia has partnered with digital music service, Spotify, to let eBay users play Christmas tunes for free while they shop online.

Global eBay research shows that for 65 per cent of Australians, the start of the Christmas shopping season is signalled by hearing Christmas music.

To add to the sensory affect, eBay will also hand out gingerbread scented scratch and sniff stickers to Sydney commuters and shoppers.

While  Australians are shopping via screens more than ever, they still want a Christmas experience.

eBay Australia spokesperson, Megan English said that until now, shoppers have potentially missed out on some of the Christmas joy that comes with the music, decorations, and scents of Christmas when shopping online.

“As Australia’s largest online shopping destination, it’s our responsibility to make sure our shoppers have the best experience possible. Our aim is to bring just a little bit of Chrissy cheer to the 8 million Australians who choose to use eBay to share some Christmas spirit by giving simple access to some all time favourite Christmas tunes.”

To play the tunes, shoppers are asked to visit A Spotify play button is located on the bottom right hand side. If you’re already logged in to Spotify, the tunes will play instantly, however, if you’re not signed in, when you click to play you will be prompted to do so. eBay members can also add to the open playlist and share their favourite Christmas tunes.
