Outlet centre lifts sales

Birkenhead Point Outlet Centre continues to gain momentum as Sydney’s premium outlet centre with annual sales up 15 per cent in June, 2013 completing a solid financial year. Resource-5

The centre’s multimillion dollar redevelopment and upgrade has boosted Birkenhead Point’s position in NSW, attracting a greater number of premium fashion retailer tenants to the centre in the last 12 months, including brands such as Lee Wrangler, Nike, Asics, and Kookai.

Major store expansions from supermarket chain Coles, located on the newly developed ground floor, as well as Oroton and Saba are also reporting strong sales

“The changes at Birkenhead Point have invigorated the local community’s enthusiastic return to the centre”, said Gerard McSpadden, Abacus Property Group’s national asset manager, retail.

“This along with strong support from the fashion shoppers, shows our sales results continue to defy the current market retail trends.”

Located on Sydney Harbour in Drummoyne, retailers at the centre include David Jones Warehouse, Hugo Boss, Kathmandu, Ralph Lauren, Levis, Cue, Laura Ashley, Spotlight, PeepToe Shoes, Alannah Hill, Sheridan, Nine West, and Steve Madden

Abacus Property Group purchased Birkenhead Point Outlet Centre in November, 2010.
