New York-based luxury lifestyle brand, Michael Kors, has appointed former Tiffany & Co executive, Stephane Lafay, as its new president for Asia.

Lafay will report to the company’s chairman and CEO, John Idol.

“This is a pivotal moment for the brand as we continue to invest and work to build a strategic roadmap for the Asia region,” said Idol.

Lafay was most recently at Tiffany & Co, where he held the position of senior VP, Asia Pacific and Japan.

Prior to his five year tenure at Tiffany & Co, he was president of Bulgari Japan from 2004 to 2009.

“Stephane’s experience and leadership will help enable us to capitalise on our momentum in the region,” added Idol.
