eBay opens Melbourne office

eBay Australia has opened an office in Melbourne to support its expanding advertising business in Victoria.

eBay says it has taken on more than 80 new clients in the past year.

The office will be managed by Adam Krass, eBay Australia & NZ state manager for Victoria, SA and WA, and will provide a local service for the company’s many Melbourne clients which to date have been managed out of Sydney.

Krass and Andrew Speed, advertising sales executive at eBay Australia & NZ, will manage and grow eBay’s Melbourne presence, while closely working with local partners to incorporate their wide understanding and retail media knowledge to further grow the business.

Speed previously worked at Starcom while Krass has been with eBay for three years, having previously worked in TV sales at Nine Network and Seven Affiliate Sales.

Geotribes, a new resource for advertisers on eBay, segments the Australian population by social resources and needs. For the first time Australian marketers can target ads online based on socio economic status, life stage and needs, making the most of the eCommerce market which is now worth $30 billion.
