Burger for the trophy cabinet

KFC doubleKFC will immortalise 10 customers in a 3D trophy to promote the relaunch of its controversial The Double burger.

The limited edition Double consists of two pieces of Original Recipe chicken breast fillets instead of a bun, with two slices of cheese, bacon, and barbeque sauce inside. This year it has upped the ante by adding the Hash Brown Double – two Zinger breast fillets, two slices of cheese, bacon, Supercharged sauce, and hash brown.

The Immortalise Yourself Tour kicks off this week, offering the first 10 customers who buy the Hash Brown Double in selected stores the chance to be immortalised in a 3D trophy with the burger.

The customers will be scanned using 3D printing technology, and will receive a trophy of their likeness with the Hash Brown Double worth $385.

KFC Australia marketing director, Valerie Kubizniak, said The Immortalise Yourself Tour is about giving KFC fans a unique memento they’ll have for life.

“We know the Hash Brown Double is decadent and indulgent – so we wanted to give back to our fans in a way that’s a testament to the spirit of the product,” said Kubizniak.

“Instead of giving fans The Double for just a limited time, we’ll give them The Double for life, and we’re excited to be using the latest 3D printing technology to do just that in a new and fun way.”

The Immortalise Yourself Tour will take place this week at KFC stores at Hoxton Park, Sydney; Broadmedows, Melbourne; Morningside, Brisbane; Modbury, Adelaide; and Launceston.
