Online marketplace Catch.com has appointed Tomas Varsavsky as its new chief product and technology officer.
Varsavsky, who previously held the role of chief technology and data officer for 10 years at REA Group, will be leading Catch’s platform development as the company strengthens its momentum in the Australian market.
According to Varsavsky, he is looking forward to joining the Wesfarmers Group-owned retail website because Catch’s story caught his attention.
“They have tremendous ambition, a disruptive mindset and great backing behind them,” Varsavsky said.
“I’m looking forward to being part of their story.”
Prior to REA Group, Varsavsky was with ThoughtWorks as a principal consultant where he consulted for many organisations including AXA, Lonely Planet and ANZ on agile methodologies, software development, IT strategy and IT architecture.
Varsavsky was listed as one of the top 50 CIOs in Australia in 2018 and again in 2019.
