To help plus-sized men find good-value fashion, menswear label Connor has launched AXL+Co into the Australian market.
Owned by parent company Retail Apparel Group, the company says the launch comes after market research identified a “major gap” in the market for men who consider themselves ‘plus-size’.
The report found that 73 per cent of Australian men identify as size ‘large or above’ with 48 per cent agreeing that it’s “hard” to find stores that cater to their size or fashion needs at a “reasonable price”.
Likewise, customers preferred value (33 per cent), fit (39 per cent), comfort (25 per cent) and variety (22 per cent) when it came to choosing where to shop.
GM of AXL+Co by Connor, Charley O’Donnell, said the launch aims to address specific needs discussed above while providing “greater accessibility to a wider range of stylish, high-quality clothing at a great price, for larger men”.
AXL+Co by Connor will offer a wide range of designs including shirts, chinos, shorts, basics, suits and accessories for those in sizes X to 7XL.
Since its digital launch in July, the brand has registered more than 12 million impressions on social media and has opened its first brick-and-mortar store in Macarthur Square, Sydney with more locations planned.
