Fresh produce chain Harris Farm Markets is set to launch a flagship store at the Majura Park retail precinct in Canberra.

Construction of the 4500sqm purpose-built store will commence mid this year with trading set to commence in time for Christmas next year.

“It is a fantastic addition to our growing retail precinct, and they will complement our existing grocery offering,” said Richard Snow, head of property at Canberra Airport.

The Majura Park location will mark Harris Farm Markets’ 29th store, joining other retail giants at the precinct including Costco, Woolworths and Aldi. Once it is finished, Canberrans will be able to access an extensive range of locally sourced and organic produce, ranging from fruit, vegetables, cheeses, bread, delicatessen and gourmet grocery items.

Co-CEO of Harris Farm Markets, Tristan Harris, said the store will allow Harris Farm Markets to showcase local flavours and to design and create a “store of the future”.

“We anticipate the market will offer upward of 120 jobs for the local ACT community,” he added.
