KFC Australia has confirmed it has applied for a liquor licence for a new store in Parramatta in Sydney’s west.
The new concept store is planning to sell beer and cider alongside its current menu items.
The move follows a trial by two rebranded KFC outlets in Canada, named KFC Fresh, that began serving alcohol and new menu items such as mango rice salad last year.
The proposal for a liquor licence also comes as fellow fast food giant, McDonald’s, also tries to reinvent its image and extend its product range in Australia, opening a new experimental cafe, The Corner, in Camperdown, Sydney in a bid to test healthier food options.
