H&M to open in Westfield Kotara

h&mInternational fashion retailer H&M has announced the launch of a new store at Westfield Kotara, slated to open on 4th October.

The Kotara store will be the 12th store to open in NSW, and the third store to open in the Sydney’s Hunter region, following the opening of H&M Green Hills, Maitland in May.

“We look forward to continuing our expansion in the Hunter region with the opening of H&M at Westfield Kotara and cannot wait to meet our new customers on opening day,” said Hans Anderson, country manager for H&M Australia.

The store will span 2,700 square metres, offering an “inspiring shopping experience by showcasing apparel, underwear and accessories for Men, Women, Kids and Baby.”

H&M already has 29 stores in Australia, after having launched in Australia in 2014, with new stores to open in The Glen Shopping Centre and Northland Shopping Centre in Victoria, as well as further stores in South Australia and Queensland.

The retailer also recently revealed they are in the “planning stages for future garment collecting campaigns” and added that in Australia, the Garment Collecting initiative was a hit.

The company has collected approximately 237,000 kg of unwanted garments and textiles since the campaign was introduced.

The campaign aims to raise awareness on the importance of garment recycling by attempting to “close the loop” on fashion, giving customers an easy way to hand in unwanted garments so they can be recycled, with less garments going to landfill over all.
