Domino’s completes French takeover

Domino'sDomino’s Pizza has completed the 35 million-euro ($A54.15 million) acquisition of French chain, Pizza Sprint last night.

“Domino’s Pizza Enterprises Limited is pleased to advise that the acquisition of Pizza Sprint was completed overnight,” Domino’s said in a statement to the Australian Stock Exchange.

The acquisition will take Domino’s total number of stores in France to 330 and joins the pizza chain’s foray into Germany with the takeover of Joey’s Pizza.

Previously owned by Franck Guegan and Food Court Finance SRL, Pizza Sprint is a pizza chain in the west of France, comprised of 12 corporate stores and 77 franchise stores.

As a result of the acquisition, DPE revised its guidance for new store openings in FY16 to between 260 and 280 stores, up from its previous guidance range of 180 to 200 stores. Based on strong performance in Europe, Domino’s is revising its long term store count guidance upwards from 1350 to 1500.
