The last two years have completely reshaped how, when and where consumers buy. Customer expectations have risen but the old way of selling and fulfilling orders have struggled to keep pace.
At its core, shipping and logistics should be about the pursuit of less. Reducing kilometres out on the road. Minimising time spent printing labels. Creating a world without missed delivery attempts. Instead, it’s an industry that has strained under the pressure of trying to do more of the same.
We’ve worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure our customers and carriers stay well ahead of the curve. Every single day, our multi-carrier shipping technology helps thousands of retailers ship smarter and optimise their practices to give customers better post-purchase experiences, so they can focus on doing what they do best – grow.
As our industry has evolved, it was only fitting that we too evolved. Say hello to a new Shippit. A technology business that is here to create a sustainable future of logistics, where better experiences start with meaningful, actionable insights that create the ultimate post-purchase experience – turning first-time shoppers into lifelong customers.
To power the industry forward, we made our very first acquisition of a fellow Australian tech company and leading last-mile logistics optimisation platform, Premonition.
“Our vision of the future has always been about connecting existing logistics infrastructure to create delightful experiences and reduce waste for e-commerce retailers. Premonition enables us to connect many more parts of the logistics ecosystem together,” says Shippit co-founder, William On.
We are ready to keep pace with the unstoppable growth of e-commerce, and we’ve brought on some of the industry’s leading talent to help us build a technology business that creates a sustainable future in logistics.
Former Head of Engineering at Atlassian, Graham Carrick recently joined Shippit with a vision for the future. “I’m excited and fortunate to be part of the team and to be in a position to create an impact at this stage of company growth. I am impressed by co-CEOs Rob Hango-Zada and William On’s commitment to innovating as a logistics software company, and how they’ve transformed Shippit over the years from its humble beginnings,” says Graham, now Chief Technology Officer at Shippit.
And it’s not just Graham, it seems Shippit has struck a chord with the best and brightest minds across the technology space with new hires from Uber, Wisetech, Atlassian, Xero eBay, KMPG and Google.
“Being part of the Shippit rocket ship for the past 18 months has meant watching industry transformation up close and personal. We’re pushing the industry forwards and shining a light on retailers who are shaping the next generation of e-commerce as digital shifters,” says Stephanie Etherington-Bell, Head of Customer Experience at Shippit and former Head of Carrier Delivery at Metapack Group.
“Getting to the heart of what makes people tick, what people are passionate about and what creates a sense of connection for people is something I get to do in my role at Shippit. Supported by some of the best talent out there, we are creating a new future where traditional logistics becomes one part of a diverse, consumer-focused, and more sustainable supply chain,” says Steph.
Our technology powers the next generation of delivery experiences and our teams help us keep up with the pace of growth in an e-commerce forward world. Besides building market-leading technology, we’re here to empower individuals at the intersection of people and culture, starting with workplace policies including, share options, generous parental leave, EAP and remote work from anywhere in the world.
Shippit is a company that’s growing quickly and we want individuals to be a part of the story (and write their own).
