Green Friday will offer discounts of up to 70 per cent on products from some of Australia’s high-profile brands from this Friday, providing an alternative to “unsustainable” sales events like Black Friday and Click Frenzy.
A four-day digital event, Buy Better, will be accessible from Friday through Monday (November 18-21) and will feature sustainably-focused offers and discounts from more than 100 brands including Poshmark, Camilla, and The Body Shop.
As the holiday shopping season approaches, Green Friday says it aims to offer shoppers an eco-conscious alternative to purchase for their favourite companies with mindfulness and attention.
“We don’t need every single person to do sustainability perfectly. What we need is everyone to do sustainability imperfectly, at once, to deliver a greater impact,” said Peter Krideras, Green Friday founder.
According to Green Friday, 80 per cent of Australians are concerned about the amount of waste generated by Christmas gift-giving, a major purchasing motivator during the November sales period, and 68 per cent think it’s vital to provide sustainable gifts.
Green Friday collaborates with Sendle and Hero Packaging to reduce product packaging waste in order to help Australians consume more responsibly. Both organisations use eco-friendly procedures and materials, with a focus on waste reduction and environmentally responsible operations, while Sendle is a recognised B corporation.
